Salsa
Blazing speed, hypnotic footwork and dizzying acrobatics. Welcome to the salsa capital of the world: Cali.
Cali: The World
Capital
The Caleño style is an explosion of life. Born in the working-class neighborhoods of Cali, it stands out for its blistering execution and its repellums (ultra-fast footwork) that seem to defy the laws of physics.
Unlike linear (Puerto Rican) or circular (Cuban) styles, Colombian Salsa is danced with an extremely tight chest-to-chest connection, while the legs fire away in a whirlwind of chassé steps and aerial acrobatics.

"If you don't move your feet, you're not dancing Caleño."
The Caleño Pillars
Lightning Speed
The music is fast, often between 100 and 120 measures per minute. The body stays fixed while the feet go wild.
Complex Footwork
The 'repellums' and desynchronized footwork are the signature. A true language coded through the feet.
Acrobatics
Jumps, lifts and spins. The Colombian style is the most spectacular, turning the floor into a show stage.

The Musical
Shock
The sound of Cali is the virtuosity of the horns of Grupo Niche, the energy of Guayacán and the relentless tempo that forces you to improvise.
